Over the past few months I have been trading/selling and buying new gear to find out what I need. I have tried everything from super wide angle to tight zooms and primes. I have finally come to realize I am more of a Prime shooter. The glass is much sharper which makes for the best image. The only downfall to this type of lens is that you can not zoom. My most recent purchase was the Nikon 50 f1.8. (Used here http://www.flickr.com/photos/cslphotos/6918175027/ ) I previously had this lens but sold it during my what do I want phase…I purchased this lens because I did not have enough money for the f/1.4 version of this lens and Nikon does not produce a good enough f/1.2 as Canon does.

I hope to pick up a 35 f/1.8 or 20 f/2.8 in the near future as well as a 85f/1.4 from Sigma.

What is in My bag?

Nikon 50 f/.4

Sigma 70-200 f/2.8

Nikon D7000

Nikon F60 with 400ASA Film B/W

Fuji Instax

With copyright laws and such today, and the lack of respect some people have with artwork, I am in a bit of a pickle when it comes to watermarking my work. Unfortunately, with a watermark on a photo the eye is automatically drawn directly to type. In the past I watermarked EVERYTHING.

But now with the way you can track photos that are similar to yours and search with metadata…the question is…Do I or Don’t I?

Let me hear what you have to say!

So…

Because i am selling my 50mm 1.8 I decided to buy myself a new 85mm 1.4 Lens. This piece of glass is a beast. I did not have $2000 to blow (or invest :/) in a Nikon 85 1.4 so I bought the Opteka 1.4 85mm. I am not one to buy 3rd party lenses but, have to say…I think it was a GREAT BUY.

I will post some pics up tomorrow.

So its been 3 months since my last post so I think it is time to smarten up and get writing…

I have been pretty busy with school lately shooting a million and a half different things from portraits to toys…yes toys. Mostly all for school assignments but some for my own fun.

I haven’t been able to get out to many shows but I did get to go to one last weekend. Seven Year Riot, ft. The World Awake and Kodessa. All three bands KILLED IT at the Velvet Underground in Toronto! Probably one of the best indie shows I have seen for such a small venue!

If you don’t know who these guys are check out their facebooks.
